From Scientific Understanding to Practical Solutions
The climate crisis and ecological crisis are closely interconnected, and effective responses require understanding and addressing them in an integrated way. Climate change accelerates biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation, while degraded ecosystems struggle to perform their roles in climate regulation and sustaining human life. This session examines the scientific interactions between climate and ecosystems, reviews ecosystem change and environmental issues in Jeju, and explores nature-based solutions for resilience and biodiversity conservation.
